Hi..Well the blogging fever seems to have caught me just like thousands of others..So here’s my first blog. (Well actually this is an old blog from my previous blog site 😉 )
The topic for the blog?? Well most first time bloggers express views of something about which they have a passion in their life. Well chugging along in the same path let me share my views on one my favorite passions- adventure sports.
Just for information- here’s a list of some of the best adventure sports- Rafting, Kayaking, Trekking, Rappelling, Scuba Diving, Angling , Skiing, Bungee Jumping etc. I would not be able to discuss about all these right away in my first blog but I will surely share on my views for my favorite among them- White water rafting.
White water rafting- There is a sense of anticipation in the air as you zip up you life jacket , snap on your helmet, grab the paddle and get ready for the time of your life. You want to learn how to ride those waves or negotiate those rapids and sharp twists and bends which the river throws at you .You will be taught by instructors who have the experience and skill to teach novices the finer details of white water rafting and paddling skills. You will feel your pulse quicken as your guide runs you through the various maneuvers and instructions.
The gush of the rapids, the tantalizing swirls, lashing of water against the raft and the adrenaline pumping through your body is what river rafting is all about. Well i have been quite fortunate to be part of two most memorable rafting experiences-the first in the magnificent Kali river at Dandeli in Karnataka and the second in the freezing waters of river Beas at Kulu. Believe me friends there’s nothing more adrenaline pumping fun than rafting in India. Some of the other most famous white rafting locations in India include Rudraprayag(River Alakanada), Leh(River Indus), Rishikesh (River Ganga), Dibrugarh( River Brahmaputra) etc.
Speaking of my experiences, the best experience of rafting for me was at Dandeli through the river Kali. This bustling river flows through the Western Ghats in Karnataka and is considered as one of the best white water rafting locations in India just for the sheer fun and high pulsating ride amidst several creeps and turns through gushing waters. The best fun lies in the midst of the rafting route where the river through stunning force hustles between huge rocks and dense forests. April- June is considered the best season for rafting at this location. For those adventurers who came here, there’s more to offer, as the forest authorities here provide jungle lodges amidst thick wildlife and dense forests for staying overnight. Those who are lucky might even get a glance of the beautiful flora and fauna close to their lodges. All in all a wonderful experience for adventure lovers.
